Remember last time how we talked about those interesting Aberrican Me vids? We I wondered about female representation? Well now there are skateboards where my mouth is! Are you sitting down?
Get your sweet, sweet skateboarding here Getting Nowhere Faster. Thats a link to the movie. 45 minutes. Watch it, I’ll wait.
Fun, right? So impressive. Jaws dropped when Vanessa Torres skated on two skateboards at once!
GNF stars a great number of talented folk: Torres, Faye Jamie, Amy Caron, Alex White, Stefanie Thomas, just to name a few. Someone called Nugget jumps off a porch on to a board and skates off like it was easy.
They are crazy good, and clearly having so much fun. The movie looks like it was made by a bunch of friends. It also stars a large barbie doll and a thieving cupcake in a series of funny shorts that make very little sense but provide story interludes between the amazing skating skills.
Inspiring, funny, impressive, fun. What else do you want in a sports movie? Did you think they were good or do you think I’m easily impressed?
Hello again, Collectors.
Here is something equally as cool as Queen. Short skateboarding video stories.
Aberrican Me is a video series of stories filmed and produced (very well) by The Berrics:
Made by The Berrics, a skateboard park owned by the skateboarders Steve (Ber)ra and E(ric) Koston. The Aberrican Me series brings videos of pro skateboarders personal lives to light through interviews and reenactment.
The front page of Documentary Heaven features Aberrican Me: Ross Capicchioni, a young man who’s long-term friend shot him several times with a shotgun. He tells his story well, and only a few years after the fact. He’s clearly very calm and strong and wise.
There are 14 stories so far, each with a different pro. One about a guy who makes skateboard wax, one about there is a newly pro skater talking about looking forward to focusing on just skating.
An inspiring bunch of stories, its great to see people talking about how passionate they are. Its such an interesting culture, creative destructive, casual, intense. Like most other passionate groups, but skateboarding is intriguing, its both graceful and dirty.
They are nicely shot, well edited, I say everything one wants in a film. They are also between 3 and 5 minutes long, so help yourself. Learning to skateboard would be so cool. The only downside is the lack of female representation. Girls are awesome too! Seriously fun girl skating times are in those links. Do it for your own sake and we’ll talk about them.
Been working hard in the lead up to holidays? Have you been pretending to work but really watching documentares at your desk?
Are you ready to see an informative, interesting, well planned, emotional and gosh-darn inspiring and satisfying documentary about Queen?
You bet you are!
The people in Queen are are incredibly talented but you knew that already. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor. The documentary really shows how well they worked as a team, their voices worked well together, they all were receptive to each members ideas, and they just loved each other. Tears..
They all wrote songs, both together and individually and they supported other members vision – even if that means playing a style they don’t like. They were passionate and, as they say, never really critically acclaimed. They were just popular and they say they felt supported by their fan and that they could do what they wanted and try new things. And it worked. Over 12 years together, and so many great songs on every album!
You can learn all these things and more! Get ready to be hit by a powerful wave of awesome! What do you think?
