Been working hard in the lead up to holidays? Have you been pretending to work but really watching documentares at your desk?
Are you ready to see an informative, interesting, well planned, emotional and gosh-darn inspiring and satisfying documentary about Queen?
You bet you are!
The people in Queen are are incredibly talented but you knew that already. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor. The documentary really shows how well they worked as a team, their voices worked well together, they all were receptive to each members ideas, and they just loved each other. Tears..
They all wrote songs, both together and individually and they supported other members vision – even if that means playing a style they don’t like. They were passionate and, as they say, never really critically acclaimed. They were just popular and they say they felt supported by their fan and that they could do what they wanted and try new things. And it worked. Over 12 years together, and so many great songs on every album!
You can learn all these things and more! Get ready to be hit by a powerful wave of awesome! What do you think?
Sign language is pretty impressive.(New Zealand. American) It is fascinating to watch, and it is a great language for both deaf and hearing folk. As a fun exercise a few years ago Stephen Torrence, known as Captain Valor on Youtube, translated catchy pop songs and danced! Danced!
Whatever your feelings toward Cyrus, or Jay Z, or Brittany, or Beyonce you can agree that this Stephen is mad skilled and this video is so much fun! His facial expressions are brilliant and useful.
What really takes these videos above and beyond are the two subtitle tracks. One is the song lyrics. The other, credited to Bill Creswell in some videos, are the literal translations for the signs. It really brings sign language across as a language conveying meaning because you can follow along at home. Whoever though off adding the subtitles deserves an award!
There are quite a few videos Stephen and crew have done. They even do Still Alive from Portal! There is at least one short interview with Stephen on How Stuff Works.
What do you think of these videos? Or the fact that we are like three years late to the party?
P.S. it seems he has a blog – we might talk about it later too.
You may have seen around, perhaps on facebook too, a campaign to Save The Bird!
The bird is the logo of a Montreal based organization Yellow Bird Project who, as you can see below, make and sell t-shirts designed by indie bands and use the profits to support charities.
Its such a neat idea, who ever has enough shirts? Their shipping international is super reasonable. As well as t-shirts, they sell tea and colouring books to support YBP.
Their latest campaign, Save The Bird just took a turn for the awesome. They have an interactive series of videos allowing you to chase the bird-napper that took the bird! Its so much fun! Click below to chase that thief down!
What do you think of this campaign? Do you like any of the shirts on YBP? How are you today? Did you help Save The Bird?
